Do you have joint pain or reduced mobility due to arthritis?

We understand how it feels to be burdened with arthritis pain. You may feel frustrated, anxious, or worried that you may no longer participate in the activities you’ve always enjoyed. If that sounds like you, contact us today. We can help.

Osteoarthritis (commonly referred to as arthritis) is one of the most common orthopedic conditions. If you are experiencing arthritis, you already understand the pain and discomfort involved and how it can negatively impact your quality of life and enjoyment of daily activities.

Historically, many patients over 40 with pain due to osteoarthritis have been advised to try physical therapy, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), or other injections that can be harmful to the long-term health of the joint. In many cases, surgery or joint replacement is often recommended.

The patients we treat for arthritis pain benefit from:

  • Improved joint function & reduced pain
  • Improved quality of life
  • Suspended need for joint replacement
  • Minimal downtime from work or activities
  • Reduced risk, with no surgical side effects or lengthy recovery

Contact us today for an evaluation of your condition, or a second opinion. We’ve helped many active patients avoid or postpone joint replacement surgery by reducing joint pain and improving joint function.

As we grow older, pain and discomfort related to osteoarthritis becomes more common. Oftentimes, surgery is recommended before other treatment options are fully explored. And in some cases, injections that help mask the pain are used, but may produce unwanted long-term side effects. We offer the latest in non-surgical solutions for arthritis that help patients avoid surgery and get back to the activities they enjoy.

Dr. Bergum has been practicing interventional orthopedics for over 15 years. He is a graduate of Midwestern University – Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and is Board Certified in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. His residency training was at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine – Rochester, MN in Family Medicine, and his fellowship training in Sports Medicine was at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. He has extensive training in the field of Regenerative Medicine and image-guided musculoskeletal injections through groups such as the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation, Mayo Clinic, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and has ANSI accredited Registered in Musculoskeletal (RMSK) sonography certification. He has done additional training at the world-renowned Centeno-Schultz Clinic in Colorado and is certified by both the IOF and Regenexx to perform advanced-level injections throughout the body, including the spine.

Orthobiologic injections allow us to help the body repair areas of musculoskeletal degeneration and injury without the use of (and associated cell damage from) corticosteroids, with the goal of regaining function, decreasing pain, and avoiding surgery. I take the time to let my patients tell me their whole story, including their goals and challenges, and perform a thorough musculoskeletal exam. I take a whole-body, holistic approach to my patients, and work with my patients to get them “back into their game”.

Areas treated: Foot & Ankle, Elbow, Hand & Wrist, Knee, Hip, Shoulder
